The Indian Army has significantly bolstered its combat capabilities in Siachen, the world's highest battlefield, through the induction of heavy-lift helicopters, logistic drones, and the deployment of all-terrain vehicles, officials revealed on Saturday. Celebrating 40 years of its presence on the strategically vital Siachen glacier, officials highlighted the substantial improvements in operational prowess due to enhanced infrastructure developments in recent years.

Situated at an altitude of approximately 20,000 feet in the Karakoram mountain range, the Siachen glacier is renowned as the highest militarised zone globally, where soldiers fight frostbite and fierce winds. Since the establishment of full control over the glacier under "Operation Meghdoot" on April 13, 1984, the Indian Army has continued to fortify its presence and combat readiness in this challenging terrain.
